Inside Amy Schumer - 5th New Season

More than a month before the season 3 of Broad City debuts, the network announced that it has renewed the show for a fourth and fifth season.

And also not surprisingly, Comedy Central renewed Inside Amy Schumer for a fifth season. The popular and critically lauded sketch comedy — which won the Emmy for Oustanding Variety Sketch Series in September — will return for season 4 in April.

The stand-up who scored on the big screen as well with the hit comedy Trainwreck said in a statement: “We are so excited to get picked up. I’ve gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best.”

The duo recently received an endorsement from none other than a possible future President: Hillary Clinton will make an appearance in an upcoming episode.

There was more good news for Glazer: Comedy Central also announced that in April it will air a limited series amazingly titled Time Traveling Bong, which she stars in and co-wrote. The three-night event debuts on April 20 — or 4/20.

“I've gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best," jokes Schumer.

Amy Schumer’s reign continues.

Comedy Central announced Wednesday that it was renewing her Emmy-winning series Inside Amy Schumer for a fifth season. The fourth season of the series, which also snagged a Peabody, will premiere in April. "We are so excited to get picked up,” said Schumer, adding, “I've gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best."

What Inside Amy lacks in linear viewers, it makes up for in viral magnitude. The series’ third season grew more than 200 percent and total video streams saw a six-fold increase season-over-season, with over 83 million videos streamed from the third season.

Among the show's more memorable sketches: “12 Angry Men” and “Last F---able Day” with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tina Fey and Patricia Arquette. The series has garnered critical raves, with The New York Times describing it as “the perfect, classic balance of smart and filthy."

The news come as Schumer’s own star has risen dramatically, with the massive success of her feature debut Trainwreck and, months later, her Chris Rock-directed HBO stand-up special. She has several more film projects in the works, including a comedy she’s co-writing with pal Jennifer Lawrence, and she inked a rich book deal last year as well.

Keeping Schumer on the Comedy Central roster has been a top priority; in fact, the network famously offered her The Daily Show hosting gig after Jon Stewart announced he would be departing.
